Østfold Hospital plans a new hospital
structure in Moss and the construction of
a new hospital on
Kalnes. In 2015,
the new hospital
will be ready. A brand
new building on
Kalnes and the upgraded
building in Moss, will provide approximately 270
000 østfold residents with
an good hospital
service in the future. The new
building on Kalnes has a gross floor space
of approximately 82,500 square meters.
Key objectives for the work on the preliminary project have included developing
a building information
model (BIM) as
the basis for design
work.
dRofus has
been used from the very early phase of the project and has become a key tool for the entire
design team to
ensure the end user's functional, technical and
equipment requirements in the new hospital.
Tight integration with Revit
Architecture through a plug-in for Revit ensures good
workflow with dRofus.
Data from dRofus
regarding planned rooms, Room Data Sheet (RDS) and equipment is synchronized
to Revit, whilst data from Revit is synchronized back to
dRofus.
IFC files from
Revit Architecture are uploaded every
week to the project's
server so they
are available for all members of the
engineering group. Since dRofus can import
and export IFC,
and has a built-in
IFC viewer, all users of dRofus (ie
also all those
who do not have Revit installed), can simply
visualize the building in 3D and continuously quality-control
the rooms, equipment and areas according to the planned solutions.
